The PATT tool supports educators in their record-keeping of both in-class participation and attendance. Using this tool will help to make end-of-term grading simpler and more fact-driven. The tool may also help teachers recall students’ names better and help in the facilitation of “cold-calling” students for participation without bias. The provided user guide will guide you through the setup and various uses of the Participation and Attendance Tracking Tool (PATT), which includes:

  • Importing students’ pictures
  • Recording attendance
  • Recording voluntary student participation
  • Selecting students for random participation

This tool was developed as part of a research study. To get access to the current working paper, email David Wood at davidwood@byu.edu.
