Case specifically designed for introductory accounting course. We recommended reviewing the user guide visual as a first step to understand the purpose and design of eight mini cases. The Overview takes a traditional introductory accounting course and outlines when to use each of the individual eight cases in your curriculum.

Students sometimes perceive accounting as formulaic and rules oriented because introductory courses often focus on the debits and credits of simple, “clean” transaction processes. Mini Case 2 introduces students to the many (“messy”) variations to transaction processes that practitioners encounter in the real world. Overall, this case illustrates the complexity of actual reporting systems and process flows, as well as highlights process mining technology (Celonis) that will allow practitioners to identify transactions with greater risk.
