Description: Data visualization can be described as blending the art of design with the science of data. It’s about communicating data primarily through imagery to reveal the best insights in the most compelling way to varied users.
For two components of the analytics mindset (apply appropriate data analytic techniques and then interpret and share the results with stakeholders), there are important skills students need to develop that specifically focus on data visualization design and storytelling. This curriculum can help provide exposure to basic fundamentals to help develop these skills. Once students have been exposed to this learning, it can be helpful to reference it in how they assess their work and the work of others. This material also serves as a foundation for some of the cases.
